The mission
Why I’m doing this
My name is Kevin, and I’m a photographer.
While building my portfolio and offering sessions, I started to notice something I hadn’t fully considered before. A lot of people wanted family or maternity photos, but many of them didn’t have access to them in a meaningful way.
Not because they didn’t care.
Not because they didn’t value photos.
But because it wasn’t something they felt they could afford or prioritize at full price, even when it mattered deeply to them.
That realization is what led to FOTO FOR FAMILY.
This project is my way of meeting people halfway. I invest my time, experience, and creative energy into these sessions by offering my work at a reduced rate. Community support helps cover the remaining costs involved so this work can exist in a way that’s honest, respectful, and sustainable.
This isn’t charity photography, and it isn’t free labor.
It’s shared support built around access, care, and dignity
FOTO FOR FAMILY exists to make sure families have photographs of themselves not just someday, but now.
Photos are often the first thing people put off. Life gets expensive, priorities stack up, and documenting moments falls to the bottom of the list. But years later, photos are often the only things that remain.
This project was created to close that gap.
What I’m offering
Through FOTO FOR FAMILY, I provide free professional photo sessions to families, single mothers, and expecting mothers in NYC.
Each session includes:
• A one hour guided photo session
• Studio locations in NYC
• Family or maternity focused photography
• Professionally edited digital images
• A calm, respectful experience
Every session is approached with the same care and intention as my paid work.
Where the support goes
I don’t own a studio, so each session requires renting one. Studio costs vary based on location and size, which is one of the biggest expenses involved in making this project possible.
For FOTO FOR FAMILY sessions, I also reduce my standard hourly rate by half. That’s my contribution to the project and my way of investing directly into the families I photograph.
When funding allows, a portion of donations may also be used to help with transportation. The goal is to make getting to the studio easier whether that means covering subway fare, an Uber, or other transportation needs.
Donations are used for:
• Studio rental
• Editing and delivery
• Reduced photographer rate
• Transportation support when possible
Every dollar goes toward removing barriers and making these sessions accessible.
How the project works

• When demand is high, sessions are selected through a fair raffle process
Capacity is intentionally limited so every session receives the time and attention it deserves.

Donations are used solely to fund sessions, production costs, and accessibility efforts. Donations are not tax deductible unless and until the project becomes a registered nonprofit.
